Shannon Phelan is an independent technical editor and report reviewer for environmental consultants. A former project manager for environmental due diligence, she has written and reviewed hundreds of technical reports. She now lives in the country and spends her time learning about nature with her two young girls and shepherd dog.

Mission
In my years as a project manager for environmental consulting firms, I noticed a disconnect when it was time to get a report out the door: everyone in the process (e.g., staff, principals, technical editors) thought that someone else was checking the details, so in the end, no one really did. This is where I come in. My goal is to provide diligent, focused, and friendly support to environmental consultants, allowing you to showcase your skills while I drill down and tighten up the finished product.
My services are especially suited to small businesses that need a second pair of eyes or those without an in-house technical editor. Even larger firms may benefit from someone with relevant experience who can not only zero in on the details, but also see the larger picture and offer critical review of documents.
One of my former managers once told me that the more small errors he noticed in reports he reviewed, the harder he would look for more. Clients, regulators, attorneys, and other consultants will likely do the same. Your report becomes my report, and I take pride in ensuring that your finished product reflects the hard work and diligence put into every stage of the project.
